Rahul Gandhi Pays Tribute on CRPF Valour Day, Calls for Ending Discrimination in CAPFs

New Delhi, April 9: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to the nation’s soldiers on the occasion of CRPF Valour Day through a post on the social media platform X. He emphasized the importance of addressing the issues faced by these brave individuals.
In his message, he honored the courage and sacrifice of CRPF and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), stating that these personnel play a crucial role in safeguarding the country every day.
Gandhi remarked, “Your courage and sacrifice protect our nation daily. You secure the country while stationed at borders, confront terrorism and Naxalism, and ensure peaceful and secure elections, the largest festival of democracy.”
He added, “True tribute is not merely expressed in words. Despite years of sacrifice and service, CAPF personnel do not receive timely promotions or the right to lead their own forces, as top positions are reserved for individuals from outside the forces.”
Rahul Gandhi asserted that CAPF personnel possess specialized training, ground experience, and deep strategic understanding. Therefore, it is essential for national security that leadership comes from those who truly comprehend their challenges and needs.
He further stated, “From being deprived of leadership opportunities to long-standing issues related to pay, welfare, and respect—this institutional injustice undermines the morale of those who dedicate their lives to the nation’s security. This is not just a career issue; it is a matter of justice and respect.”
In conclusion, he expressed, “I and the Congress party hold you in the highest regard and love. We believe that your advancement, top leadership, and respect within your forces are your rights. Once our government is in place, this discriminatory system will be abolished, and CAPF personnel will receive their full rights. The nation owes you heroes a debt. It is time for justice to be served.”
