Rahul Gandhi Launches Satyagraha Portal Amid Concerns for Democracy, Says UP Congress Chief

Lucknow, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant move, Rahul Gandhi has launched a Satyagraha Portal, drawing parallels to Mahatma Gandhi’s historical resistance against colonial rule. Aradhana Mishra, the President of Uttar Pradesh Congress, spoke on various pressing issues during a recent event, emphasizing the need for unity in the face of perceived threats to democracy and the Constitution.

Mishra stated, “Mahatma Gandhi initiated Satyagraha against the British. Today, another ‘Gandhi’ has started this movement as the circumstances mirror those of the past. The nation’s democracy and Constitution are in jeopardy.” She expressed confidence that the growing popularity of the Satyagraha Portal would rally citizens together in this struggle.

Addressing the issue of a letter sent by Mallikarjun Kharge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she remarked, “This is our collective demand. Large-scale voter disenfranchisement has occurred under the guise of SIR. This process must be halted immediately. If Gyanesh Kumar has any sense of morality, he should resign.”

Recently, AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi accused the Election Commission of improperly removing voters from the list through flawed Form-7. In response, Mishra questioned Owaisi’s silence when Gandhi first raised these concerns, urging him to demand Kumar’s resignation if he believed such actions were occurring.

In a related context, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav shared a post on X, stating that when the goal is clear, collaboration becomes easier. Mishra responded, “The Congress stands with everyone. We have fulfilled our alliance duties and will continue to do so. Our objective is to remove the BJP government from the state by 2027 and establish a government from the INDIA bloc.”

Amid ongoing tensions over seat-sharing and alliances, Mishra defended the INDIA bloc, asserting it was a national coalition, not merely a state-level arrangement. She added that national leaders had provided their support for this collective effort.

Furthermore, Mishra congratulated Indian athletes for their remarkable achievements at the Asian Games, stating, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to every athlete who has elevated the honor of India at the Asian Games. May they continue to bring pride to the nation and excel in their endeavors.”
