Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Government, Vows Not to Back Down Amid Rising Tensions

New Delhi, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, has launched a fierce attack on the central government, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and the Election Commission. In a video message shared on social media platform X, he emphasized that he has been battling Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the RSS, and their affiliates for over a decade, claiming to have a deep understanding of their tactics.

He stated, “I have been fighting against Narendra Modi, the RSS, and their associates for more than a decade. I know my opponents as well as anyone knows their rivals. I am fully aware of their every move.” Gandhi accused his political adversaries of embodying ‘cowardice,’ specifically naming Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. He remarked that their circle is gradually shrinking.

The Congress leader asserted that the use of arrests and security forces cannot silence the opposition. “Do what you must. Call in as many police as you want. Arrest all leaders and youth; arrest all of us. We will not back down,” he declared.

Gandhi claimed to possess crucial information, emphasizing that his struggle is for the protection of the Constitution and democratic rights. He urged the youth to continue protesting, assuring them that Congress stands with them.

His comments come at a time when Congress leaders have criticized the government and administration over protests in Delhi. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra targeted the government regarding the detention of protesters, alleging that the capital has been turned into a ‘fortress’ to stifle democratic demonstrations. She claimed that young people and opposition activists are being prevented from exercising their constitutional rights, and that attempts to undermine democracy are against the country’s interests, reflecting a government that appears fearful of criticism.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh also questioned the central government and the Election Commission, stating that the unprecedented security measures in the capital indicate the government’s discomfort with protests. He raised objections to the Special Intensive Review (SIR) process related to the voter list, labeling it as a matter tied to democratic rights.

The Congress party maintains that its movement concerning issues affecting youth, students, and voters will continue unabated.
