New Delhi, August 4: Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra has stated that the announcement by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal to march to the Prime Minister’s residence with a hundred supporters is part of a competition between him and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to become the country’s number one ‘anarchist.’
Malhotra remarked that since Rahul Gandhi staged a protest in front of the Prime Minister’s residence, Kejriwal has felt overshadowed in this type of politics. To compensate for this perceived shortcoming, Kejriwal has now declared a march on the issue of ethanol without prior permission.
The Delhi BJP President criticized Kejriwal’s political style, which he described as creating chaos and then portraying himself as a victim. He predicted that when police prevent Kejriwal from proceeding to the Prime Minister’s residence without permission, he will again claim victimhood, asserting that the government has not engaged with him.
Malhotra further emphasized that the truth about both Kejriwal and Congress regarding the ethanol-blended petrol issue has come to light. He noted that using ethanol is essential, as it not only reduces air pollution but also increases farmers’ income and saves significant foreign currency for the country.
He urged Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi to listen to the statement made by former Congress Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar in Parliament on August 11, 2005, where he clearly stated that blending ethanol with petrol is in the national interest and that the government would implement it.
Malhotra concluded by challenging Kejriwal and Congress to present 100 vehicles to the public, certified by a qualified automotive engineer, that have been damaged due to ethanol use, rather than misleading people about ethanol-blended petrol.
