New Delhi, 19 August (Kiran News). South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out of the One Day International (ODI) series against Australia due to an ankle injury. The incident occurred in Cairns (Australia) just one hour before the start of the first ODI on Tuesday.

Cricket South Africa released a statement saying that Rabada underwent a scan on Monday after swelling was detected in his right ankle. Following this, the 30-year-old Rabada was ruled out of the three-match series. The statement added, “He will remain in Australia and will undergo rehabilitation under the supervision of the Proteas medical staff.”
Left-arm fast bowler Kwena Maphaka, who was the highest wicket-taker in the recent T20 series between the two teams, has been included in the squad. However, he was not selected for the first match of the series.
