Chandigarh, March 13: The Punjab government is hosting the three-day ‘Progressive Punjab Investors Summit 2026’ in Mohali. The event will be inaugurated on Friday by Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, alongside Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
The summit is seen as a significant step by the Bhagwant Mann government towards transforming Punjab into a ‘Rangla Punjab.’ Running from March 13 to March 15, the event will feature representatives from various countries, including the United Kingdom, Japan, and South Korea.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took to social media platform X to announce, “Today marks the grand beginning of the ‘Progressive Punjab Investors Summit 2026.’ A warm welcome to renowned industrialists from across the nation and the world to the sacred land of our Gurus and Pirs.”
In his post, Mann also mentioned a crucial meeting with Lakshmi N. Mittal, Executive Chairman of the world-renowned steel company ArcelorMittal, at his residence in Chandigarh. They engaged in meaningful discussions about large-scale investments in Punjab and creating new job opportunities for the youth.
He emphasized that Punjab is increasingly becoming the preferred choice for investors due to the improved industrial environment. “Our government is committed to providing every possible support to industries,” he stated.
Last week, the Punjab government took another significant step to strengthen its industrial development path by launching the ‘Industrial and Trade Development Policy-2026.’ This initiative aims to accelerate industrial expansion, attract substantial investments, and generate employment opportunities.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann formally unveiled this policy last Saturday in Ludhiana, with the state’s Minister of Industries and Commerce, Sanjeev Arora, also in attendance. The launch event saw participation from nearly 200 industrialists, industry leaders, and representatives from various sectors, showcasing the industry’s deep interest and confidence in the state’s industrial future.
