Punjab BJP Emphasizes Need for Double Engine Government

Punjab BJP leaders stress the need for a double engine government during a recent meeting, criticizing the current administrations failures.

Sangrur, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : The Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a crucial meeting of its executive committee on Friday in Sangrur, chaired by state president Kewal Singh Dhillon. The gathering underscored the necessity for a BJP-led ‘double engine’ government in the state.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Dhillon launched a sharp critique of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, highlighting the pressing issues facing Punjab. He pointed out that the threats of drug abuse, gangsterism, corruption, and deteriorating law and order are creating serious problems for the common people, businesses, government employees, and youth across the state.

Dhillon asserted that only the BJP can provide lasting solutions to these challenges. He mentioned that the meeting focused on shaping the party’s organizational structure and future strategies, including the preparation of a manifesto that would spotlight the failures of the AAP government.

In addition to discussing strategies for the upcoming 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, the committee unanimously passed a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi for completing 25 years of public service, first as Chief Minister and then as Prime Minister.

During the opening session, Union Minister Jitendra Singh initiated a discussion on Modi’s 25-year journey in public service, presenting a proposal filled with praise and gratitude.

Prominent figures such as former Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, former state president Manohar Kalia, and BJP national vice president Manpreet Singh Badal participated in the discussions.

The proposal received unanimous approval. A key session focused on ‘Organization and Future Planning,’ led by the party’s state in-charge and Rajya Sabha member Satish Punia.

During this session, state general secretary (organization) Srinivasulu Minister outlined plans to strengthen the party’s organization, discussed upcoming events, and presented the party’s future strategy.

Punjab co-in-charge Veerendra Sachdeva and co-in-charge Alka Gurjar, also a Rajya Sabha member, addressed the assembly.

During the session critiquing the state government’s failures, former state president Vijay Sampla, Avinash Rai Khanna, and Shwet Malik harshly condemned the AAP government, declaring it a failure on all fronts.

Rajya Sabha member Sandeep Pathak discussed the manifesto prepared against the AAP government, while former Punjab BJP president and MP Sunil Jakhar shared insights related to the party’s election manifesto.

Throughout the day, discussions revolved around organizational matters, public interest issues, and preparations for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.
