Priyanka Gandhi Calls for Discussion on PM Modis Remarks in Parliament

New Delhi, March 23: In the Lok Sabha, AICC General Secretary and MP Priyanka Gandhi emphasized the need for a discussion following Prime Minister Modi’s recent statements. She noted that while the Prime Minister updated the nation on current situations, he did not introduce many new points. “We should discuss the notice we submitted for this purpose. All perspectives must be heard,” she stated.

Congress MP Praniti Shinde also raised concerns about the lack of opportunity for discussion, claiming that the ruling party was not allowing it. She criticized the Prime Minister for delivering a prepared statement, asserting that it was disconnected from ground realities. “There is a shortage of LPG. He did not explain how we will address this issue. Farmers are facing a crisis with thousands of tons of fruits stuck in transit,” she added.

RJD MP Manoj Jha questioned the delay in the Prime Minister’s response, asking how many issues would remain unaddressed. He pointed out that there was no mention of the recent attack on a school in Iran, highlighting the opposition’s blame for the panic. “You are acknowledging this now, but it should have been addressed earlier,” he remarked.

In contrast, BJP MP SP Singh Baghel defended the Prime Minister, stating that Union Minister Hardeep Puri and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had previously commented on the crisis in West Asia. He noted that PM Modi provided a detailed discussion on India’s role and the current situation regarding the crisis during the Lok Sabha session. “The Prime Minister is actively seeking alternatives to resolve the energy crisis,” he said.

During his address, PM Modi affirmed India’s clear stance on diplomacy, expressing deep concern over the conflict from the outset. “I have personally engaged with all relevant leaders in West Asia, urging them to de-escalate tensions and work towards ending the conflict,” he concluded.
