
New Delhi, March 7: The national capital is set to receive a significant boost as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation for development projects worth approximately ₹33,500 crore this Sunday. This announcement was made by the Chief Minister’s office.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reviewed the preparations for the event on Saturday. According to the Chief Minister’s office, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation for several projects, including two new corridors for the Delhi Metro. The first corridor will connect Majlis Park to Maujpur-Babarpur on the Pink Line, enhancing connectivity across various areas of the capital. The second corridor will be on the Magenta Line, linking Dipaali Chowk to Majlis Park.
On Sunday, PM Modi will also lay the foundation for new corridors under Phase 5A, making travel easier for the residents of the national capital. These include the Central Vista Corridor from Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprastha, the Golden Line extension from Aerocity to Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal-1, and the Golden Line extension from Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj.
The Central Vista Corridor from Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprastha will span 9.9 kilometers and will be constructed underground, featuring nine new metro stations.
Previously, CM Rekha Gupta stated that the metro section from Majlis Park to Maujpur-Babarpur is 12.3 kilometers long and includes eight elevated stations. This corridor is part of the existing Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar Pink Line. She noted that with the addition of this metro section, the total length of the Pink Line will increase to approximately 71.56 kilometers, making Delhi home to the country’s first fully operational ring metro.
On Friday, CM Rekha Gupta also visited to assess the preparations. She posted on the social media platform ‘X’, expressing, “The world’s most popular leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is being welcomed by Delhi with enthusiasm, pride, and warmth, as he guides the unwavering commitment to national service and nation-building.”
