
New Delhi, August 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic bus accident in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh, which resulted in the deaths of seven individuals. He also extended his wishes for a swift recovery to all the injured, as reported by the Prime Minister’s Office.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Modi stated, “The loss of lives in the accident in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, is extremely heartbreaking. My condolences go out to the families who have lost their loved ones. I wish a speedy recovery to the injured.”
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also expressed his grief regarding the incident. In a post on X, he wrote, “The news of the death of seven people and injuries to another eleven in the bus accident near Chaluja turn on the Tissa-Bairagarh road in Chamba district is profoundly sad. My heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones. May God grant peace to the departed souls and strength to the grieving families to bear this immense sorrow.”
Chief Minister Sukhu has instructed the district administration to ensure that all injured individuals are promptly admitted to nearby hospitals for proper treatment. He also prayed for the quick recovery of all those affected.
BJP MP Suresh Kashyap commented, “The news of the Sharma bus accident near Chaluja turn on the Chamba-Bairagarh road in Chamba district is extremely tragic. The untimely demise of several individuals in this horrific road accident is deeply painful. May God grant peace to the departed souls.”
The accident occurred around 6:30 AM when a private bus was en route from Bairagarh to Chamba. The bus lost control and plunged off the road near Devi Kothi on the Tissa-Bairagarh main road. There were a total of 18 people on board, and some individuals were trapped beneath the bus following the incident.
Later, the Chamba district disaster management authority confirmed the deaths of seven people and injuries to eleven others. Official information regarding the causes of the accident and the identities of the deceased and injured has yet to be released.
