Prime Minister Modi Celebrates Mahagauri on Maha Ashtami, Prays for Prosperity and Health

New Delhi, March 26: The eighth form of Goddess Durga, Mahagauri, is being worshipped across the nation. On this auspicious occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his respects to Mahagauri, praying that her divine aura brings happiness, prosperity, and health to everyone’s life.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, PM Modi expressed, “I bow to the feet of Mahagauri. May her divine light bring happiness, prosperity, and health to all.”

He also shared a Sanskrit verse that reads, “श्वेते वृषे समारूढा श्वेताम्बरधरा शुचिः. महागौरी शुभं दद्यान्महादेवप्रमोददा॥”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote on ‘X’, “The worship of Mahagauri, the eighth form of Goddess Durga, illuminates the seeker’s life with purity, self-control, and strength. May the blessings of the Mother fulfill the devotees’ desires, bringing happiness, peace, prosperity, and new energy into their lives.”

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta extended heartfelt wishes on the occasion of Maha Ashtami, stating, “On this special occasion of worshipping the divine, I bow to the compassionate Mahagauri. Her form, attained through rigorous penance, dispels darkness from our inner selves and instills purity and simplicity in our lives. May her boundless grace inspire us to serve humanity selflessly, free from hatred. May every family in Delhi be blessed with happiness, unbroken prosperity, and auspicious energy.”

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma wished everyone on Durga Ashtami, saying, “May the blessings of Mahagauri remain with you all. May the Goddess grant us strength and prosperity.”

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also conveyed his wishes on ‘X’, stating, “Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on the Maha Ashtami festival dedicated to the Goddess Mahagauri, the deity of wealth, peace, and prosperity. I wish you all happiness, prosperity, and good health through the blessings of Mahagauri.”

It is noteworthy that during the nine days of Navratri, the nine forms of Goddess Jagdamba are worshipped, bringing vibrancy to every temple across the country. On the eighth day of Navratri, the worship of Mahagauri takes place, symbolizing peace, purity, and knowledge. The Goddess is particularly fond of the color white.
