New Delhi, August 14: President Droupadi Murmu will address the nation on the eve of India’s 80th Independence Day on August 14.
According to an official announcement made late Thursday, the President’s speech will be broadcast at 7 PM across All India Radio’s national network and will be shown on all television channels. The speech will first be delivered in Hindi, followed by its English version.
Doordarshan has confirmed that after the Hindi and English broadcasts, regional language versions will also be aired. Regional channels will present translated versions for viewers in different states.
All India Radio will also broadcast regional language versions on its respective networks at 9:30 PM, ensuring that the message reaches citizens in their mother tongue.
The annual address by the President on the eve of Independence Day is a long-standing tradition that outlines the national celebrations scheduled for August 15. It typically highlights the country’s achievements, challenges, and aspirations, while also paying tribute to the sacrifices made during the freedom struggle.
