Prakash Raj Advocates for Peaceful Power Shift Inspired by Gandhi

Actor Prakash Raj calls for peaceful protests and a shift in power, emphasizing Gandhis principles during a recent appeal.

New Delhi, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : Actor Prakash Raj recently responded to the ongoing discussions surrounding power change in India, emphasizing the need for a peaceful transition inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s principles. His comments came in light of an appeal made by CJP leader to supporters for a demonstration on October 16, following the detention of activists Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka.

Raj voiced his support for non-violent protests, questioning whether it is a crime to engage in peaceful demonstrations while holding the national flag. He highlighted the case of Ashutosh Ranka, who was placed in custody for five days after participating in a protest at Jantar Mantar. Raj asked, “Are those who protest now being labeled as terrorists?” He stressed that such actions are a part of civic engagement and called on citizens to question the legitimacy of arrests made during peaceful protests.

He urged people across the nation to carry the tricolor and express their views peacefully. Raj pointed out the implications of arresting individuals for simply holding the national flag, suggesting that if two people can be detained, many more could face similar fates.

In discussing comments made by Neha Vohra and Prashant Bhushan about power change, Raj echoed their sentiments but insisted that any transition in India must occur peacefully. He asserted that the youth should not be associated with violence when advocating for change. Instead, he believes that young people will express their concerns through non-violent means.

Addressing allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the protection of Gyanesh Kumar, Raj questioned why the government has not provided clear answers to the concerns raised. He urged transparency and accountability from those in power, suggesting that if the allegations are unfounded, the accused should come forward with evidence to refute them.

Raj also responded to Dhruv Rathi’s remarks about the armed forces and police, asserting that these individuals are citizens of the country, not merely representatives of a political party. He reminded that those in power will not always remain there and will eventually face accountability.

After the judicial custody of Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka, Raj outlined that there is no distinct strategy for future protests. He affirmed that while the government may attempt to suppress dissent, it cannot silence the collective voice of the nation. Looking ahead, he declared, “Every home will become a Jantar Mantar,” as citizens continue to raise their voices for change.
