Political Agenda Behind Infiltrators in Bengal: Harsh Vardhan Shringla

Siliguri, April 12: As the assembly elections approach in West Bengal, political activities are intensifying. On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive rally in Siliguri, where Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Vardhan Shringla shared his insights.

Shringla noted, “The crowd at the Siliguri rally was overwhelming. Gathering such a large number of people in one place is quite challenging. Initially, we planned a roadshow of just 500 meters, but due to the massive turnout, it extended to 14 to 15 kilometers. This was entirely unplanned, and the sheer number of people was astonishing.”

He further stated that the Prime Minister clearly indicated that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government has deliberately neglected the development of North Bengal, as the local vote bank is shifting towards the BJP. “Once the BJP forms the government, the syndicates run by mafias will be dismantled. Women, youth, and farmers will benefit the most from this change,” he added.

Regarding the BJP’s manifesto, Shringla mentioned, “The party has promised to provide ₹3,000 monthly to women and unemployed youth. Additionally, those preparing for competitive exams will receive ₹15,000 in extra support. Women graduating will get ₹50,000 in assistance. Several significant initiatives are underway for women’s safety, including the Durga Safety Squad, women police stations, and 33% reservation in the Lok Sabha. Prime Minister Modi envisions integrating women into the mainstream of society, which will bring about significant changes across Bengal, especially in North Bengal.”

On the issue of infiltration, Shringla launched a sharp attack on the TMC government. He said, “West Bengal shares its border with Bangladesh, making the infiltration problem severe. The BJP government in Assam has effectively tackled this issue, bringing the situation under control. However, the TMC government has taken no concrete steps in this direction and has even refused to provide the necessary land for border fencing. It appears that the TMC has a political agenda to continuously allow infiltrators, which negatively impacts society.”

He also commented on the recent ‘Islamabad Talks’ between the U.S. and Iran, stating, “There was a significant gap between both sides during their meeting, as each presented their own interests. It may take time for results to emerge. India has always wished for peace in the region, as a large number of Indians reside in West Asia, and our oil imports come from there. Thus, establishing peace is crucial for us. Prime Minister Modi has been in continuous dialogue with leaders from Gulf countries, Iran, Israel, and the U.S.”
