Air Quality in Delhi-NCR Set to Deteriorate as Rain Relief Ends

Following recent rains, air quality in Delhi-NCR is expected to decline again, with pollution levels rising in the coming days.

Noida, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : The recent respite from air pollution in the Delhi-NCR region is coming to an end. Heavy rains and strong winds had cleared the air, significantly improving the air quality index (AQI) across areas including Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram. However, changes in weather patterns indicate a potential rise in pollution levels once more.

Meteorological forecasts suggest that from November 2 to November 7, the weather will remain predominantly clear, with only partial cloud cover expected. Unfortunately, there is no rain in sight, which raises concerns about a resurgence of dust and pollutants in the atmosphere. As a result, residents may once again face deteriorating air quality.

The weather department predicts that the maximum temperatures will hover between 28 to 29 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures are expected to range from 16 to 17 degrees Celsius during the first week of November. Specifically, on November 2, the maximum temperature is forecasted to be 29 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 17 degrees. The following days will see similar temperatures, with a slight dip anticipated on November 4.

Humidity levels are expected to fluctuate between 60 to 85 percent throughout the week, with clear skies dominating the forecast. Notably, the weather department has not issued any warnings for this period. However, the absence of rain and dry conditions could lead to an increase in pollution levels again, particularly in the mornings and late evenings when the air may feel chilly.

Residents of Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Delhi, and Gurugram are advised to monitor air quality closely. Vulnerable groups, including children, the elderly, and those with respiratory issues, should take precautions as pollution levels rise.
