If you are a Punjab National Bank (PNB) customer, this news could be extremely important for you. The bank has issued an alert stating that savings account holders who have not updated their KYC must complete the process by November 30, 2025. If e-KYC is not completed on time, your account will be made inoperative (frozen). This means you won’t be able to withdraw money, transfer funds, or use UPI or net-banking services.
Check and Update KYC Online from Home
But there’s no need to worry. In today’s digital age, you can check and update your KYC online from home. All you need is a smartphone and the official app or internet banking access. Let us guide you step-by-step on how you can complete your KYC from home without any hassle.
How to Check and Update KYC Through PNB App
Step 1: Download the PNB ONE mobile app from Google Play or App Store. Login to the app. Go to the menu and select “KYC Update / Status” option.
Step 2: If your KYC shows as pending on the screen, tap on “Update KYC”. The OTP-based Aadhaar verification process will begin. You will receive an OTP on the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. Enter the OTP. Once verification is complete, your account will be reactivated and the bank will send you a confirmation message.
Alternative Method: Visit Branch or Send Documents
If you don’t want to use the app, you can visit your nearest PNB branch. There you will get a KYC update form. Take documents like ID proof, address proof, passport size photo, PAN or Form 60, and income proof if required. If you cannot visit the branch, you can send photocopied or scanned documents via registered email or post to your base branch. After sending documents, the bank will verify them and update your KYC status.
Why is KYC Update So Important?
KYC (Know Your Customer) ensures that the bank knows the account holder is a genuine person, which helps prevent fraud, money laundering, and illegal transactions. If you don’t update KYC on time, the bank can freeze or suspend your account. This means you won’t be able to withdraw money, transfer funds, or use net-banking. Therefore, in 2025, PNB has alerted all customers to update their KYC by November 30.
Important Points to Remember About KYC
PNB or any bank will never send you unknown links or messages asking for OTP, passwords, or documents. If you receive such links or messages, ignore them. Update KYC only through official channels (PNB ONE app, internet banking, branch, registered email/post). Keep your Aadhaar linked to your mobile number and bank account so that OTP verification works properly.
