New Delhi, August 15: On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort, focusing on the future of the nation and the pivotal role of youth. Key phrases such as “Developed India 2047,” “Vande Mataram,” “self-reliance,” “youth power,” and “resolution” resonated throughout his address.
PM Modi emphasized the importance of youth and the vision for 2047. He repeatedly mentioned the goal of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.
Special mention was made of “Vande Mataram,” as this year marks the 150th anniversary of the national song, which was sung in its entirety at the Red Fort for the first time.
The Prime Minister also stressed the need for the country to become “self-reliant,” highlighting advancements in sectors like semiconductors, defense production, and energy security.
The emphasis on “youth power” was significant. PM Modi called for “Youth Power for Developed India,” sharing messages of “the seven streams of strength” and “think big, resolve big.”
He stated, “Dear countrymen, when I talk about a developed India and the rapid progress of our nation, who stands to benefit the most? Who is the greatest source of inspiration behind these efforts? It is the youth of my country. The journey towards a developed India heavily relies on our youth.”
PM Modi noted the rapid growth of entrepreneurship in the country, mentioning that over 250,000 startups are currently operational, with youth creating their own employment opportunities.
He reassured the youth, “There are over 250,000 startups. Young people are working in this direction and creating jobs. The government has announced a fund of 1 lakh crore. I want to tell them, come with your dreams; we will ensure you do not face any resource shortages.”
Discussing the progress of Digital India, PM Modi remarked, “Internet in India is the cheapest.” He provided statistics on higher education, stating, “I want to share data from 2004 to 2014. There were fewer than 350 universities then. Today, we have 650 new universities, nearing 1,000.”
Highlighting the government’s efforts to promote technology and innovation, PM Modi made a significant announcement. Referring to a recent AI summit held in India, he declared, “From the ramparts of the Red Fort, I want to announce for the youth of our country that we have resolved to train 10 million young people in AI skills over the coming year, enabling them to lead in the field of AI globally.” He also mentioned the initiation of online coaching arrangements for students.
