Jerusalem, February 26: Israeli President Isaac Herzog stated that “the people of India and Israel are stronger together” following his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He shared his sentiments on social media platform X, showcasing a moment where PM Modi speaks in Hebrew and responds with “Jai Hind.” Both phrases convey a similar sentiment of unity.
In a ten-second video clip, PM Modi expresses, “Am Yisrael Chai” (the people of Israel live on). Herzog, visibly moved by this greeting, responds, “You are amazing, and in reply to your ‘Am Yisrael Chai,’ I will say Jai Hind.”
PM Modi reposted Herzog’s message, expressing his agreement by stating, “Mr. President, I completely agree with you.” During their discussions, they explored topics such as technology, innovation, and startups. PM Modi also thanked Herzog for planting a tree together under the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ initiative.
Additionally, PM Modi shared another post detailing his tribute at the World Holocaust Remembrance Center, Yad Vashem. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Netanyahu for this remarkable visit.
The Indian Prime Minister described the Holocaust as one of the darkest chapters in human history, emphasizing that it serves as a memorial highlighting the need for humanity, dignity, and peace.
PM Modi’s two-day visit is concluding on Thursday. Throughout the visit, both nations displayed a positive outlook on their unbreakable ties and deep partnership.
On Wednesday, PM Modi was welcomed at the airport by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and his wife, Sara. He also addressed the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to do so. He was honored with the Knesset’s highest accolade, the ‘Speaker of the Knesset Medal.’
In his address, Netanyahu referred to PM Modi as his “true friend” and “brother beyond friendship.” He praised the Indian Prime Minister as a great leader and mentioned the concept of the “Modi hug.” On the second day of the visit, PM Modi trended at the top on X.
