PM Modi Wishes Prosperity and Health on Navratris Fourth Day

New Delhi, October 14 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his warm wishes to the nation on the fourth day of Sharadiya Navratri. He celebrated the worship of Goddess Kushmanda, wishing for new hope, happiness, prosperity, and good health for everyone.

In a post on X, Modi stated, “Today, we worship the fourth form of Goddess Durga, Kushmanda, during Navratri. May her boundless energy inspire new hope, happiness, prosperity, and health in the lives of all citizens.”

Additionally, the Prime Minister shared a Sanskrit verse from the Shree Durga Saptashati: “Sarvamangalamaangalye, shive sarvaarthasaadhike. Sharaneye tryambake Gauri Narayani namo’stu te.” In English, this translates to: “O Mother Narayani! You are the most auspicious among all auspicious things. You embody welfare and fulfill all human endeavors and desires. You protect those who seek refuge, and you are the three-eyed Gauri. I bow to you, O Mother of the Universe!”

This verse is recited with devotion during Navratri and other occasions dedicated to the worship of the Goddess. Regular chanting is believed to invoke the immense grace, blessings, and divine protection of Goddess Durga, leading to peace, happiness, and prosperity in life.

The Durga Saptashati, also known as ‘Devi Mahatmya’ or ‘Chandi Path,’ is a section of the Markandeya Purana, authored by sage Vedavyasa. It consists of 13 chapters and 700 verses. The term ‘Saptashati’ refers to ‘seven hundred,’ highlighting the text’s structure. It narrates Goddess Durga’s victory over demons like Mahishasura.

Religious beliefs suggest that reciting the Durga Saptashati daily or during Navratri brings numerous spiritual and personal benefits. The recitation should be performed with proper rituals and purity. It can be completed in one day or over nine days during auspicious occasions. Adhering to traditional recitation methods is essential for the correct recitation of the Durga Saptashati.
