PM Modi Unveils Development Projects in Banaskantha, Criticizes Oppositions Disruptive Plans

Prime Minister Modi launched several projects in Banaskantha, highlighting agricultural advancements and criticizing opposition efforts to create chaos.

Banaskantha, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several development projects in Banaskantha, Gujarat, on October 30, 2026. Addressing a large gathering, he highlighted the government’s achievements in agriculture, animal husbandry, and rural economy, while also targeting the opposition.

Modi emphasized that farming is integral to India’s tradition and culture. Over the past 12 years, his government has integrated science and technology into agriculture. He cited the Soil Health Card as a significant advancement that helps farmers determine the appropriate fertilizers for their fields. Currently, over 260 million Soil Health Cards are in the hands of farmers, modernizing agricultural practices.

He noted that climate change poses a significant challenge for farmers. To address this, the government has made efforts to provide new seed varieties that are climate-resilient. In recent years, approximately 3,000 new seed varieties have been introduced to farmers.

The Prime Minister also discussed the importance of animal husbandry in the rural economy, particularly highlighting the role of women. He mentioned that scientific advancements have been prioritized in this sector to boost milk production. The National Gokul Mission, aimed at the scientific breeding and conservation of indigenous breeds, is being supported by a new research center in Banaskantha. Modern technologies such as IVF are also being utilized to enhance livestock health.

“Preventing diseases in animals is a priority for us,” Modi stated. He announced a nationwide free vaccination campaign for livestock, which has provided 1.5 billion vaccines to animals, relieving financial burdens on farmers.

The impact of these initiatives is evident in milk production. The average daily yield from a cow or buffalo has increased from under five liters in 2013-14 to about eight liters today. India now leads the world in milk production growth, indicating increased income for farming families.

During the event, Modi also laid the foundation for two bio-CNG plants, aiming to ensure healthy livestock, increased milk production, and the effective use of animal waste. He highlighted the expansion of fish farming, noting that India’s seafood exports have more than doubled and that cooperatives are being promoted in this sector.

Beekeeping has emerged as another income source for farmers, with honey production doubling over the past 12 years. India has become the second-largest exporter of natural honey, with women playing a vital role in this “sweet revolution.”

Modi praised the global reputation of Banaskantha’s potatoes and announced a cluster development program for farmers growing fruits and vegetables, which includes subsidies for 12 approved clusters focused on various crops.

He also announced the introduction of two new rail services in Gujarat: the Ahmedabad-Sabarmati-Varanasi Express and the Mehsana-Becharaji-Sabarmati MEMU train.

The Prime Minister criticized the opposition, stating that while every farmer and youth is committed to building a developed India, some individuals seem to thrive on chaos. He referenced the ongoing tensions in Iran and the Gulf region, accusing opposition members of spreading rumors and fear among farmers about fertilizer shortages.

Despite global fertilizer price hikes, Modi assured that Indian farmers are receiving support, with urea prices significantly lower than the global market. “In a world filled with uncertainty, India’s rapid development offers hope,” he said, urging unity and progress towards a “One India, Great India.”

In closing, Modi expressed his lifelong commitment to serving the nation and encouraged the youth to participate actively in the “Run for Unity” initiative.
