NDA Confident of Third Consecutive Win in Uttar Pradesh, Asserts Ashish Patel

Ashish Patel expresses confidence in NDAs success in Uttar Pradesh elections, prioritizing development over political maneuvering.

Sultanpur, October 31 (Daily Kiran) : Cabinet Minister Ashish Patel has expressed strong confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will secure a third consecutive term in Uttar Pradesh under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He emphasized that the party’s primary goal is to win as many seats as possible, rather than engage in pressure tactics over seat-sharing within the alliance.

Patel stated that the NDA prioritizes development and public interest issues and adheres to secular politics. He made it clear that the party does not support the use of religious issues for political gain. He is optimistic that the NDA will present a united front in the elections and gain the support of the populace.

Speaking on the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, he noted that the leader envisioned a united nation and played a pivotal role in integrating various princely states. Patel highlighted Sardar Patel’s strong will, which facilitated the merger of states into India, mentioning instances from Hyderabad to Kashmir. He clarified that he is not seeking personal credit but aims to honor Patel’s legacy, pointing out the absence of institutions named after him between Noida and Kushinagar. He took the initiative to name an engineering college in Basti after Sardar Patel.

Regarding the absence of the Aam Aadmi Party at a rally scheduled for November 1 in Delhi, Patel remarked that in a democracy, everyone has the right to choose whether to participate in an event. He reiterated the NDA’s electoral prospects, claiming that under the Prime Minister’s guidance, the alliance will form the government for the third time. Patel also predicted that those currently showcasing political strength will see their enthusiasm wane post-elections.

When asked about former IAS officer Divya, who is starting her electoral campaign in Mirzapur, Patel affirmed that everyone has the right to contest elections and wished her success in her endeavors.

Responding to claims made by Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav regarding the ‘People’s Democratic Alliance’ (PDA), Patel asserted that true social participation is evident within the NDA. He mentioned leaders from various parties, including Om Prakash Rajbhar and Sanjay Nishad, who are part of the coalition led by Prime Minister Modi, allowing the public to determine the strength of the PDA.

On the issue of seat distribution among coalition partners in the upcoming assembly elections, Patel emphasized that the party does not fight over the number of tickets but focuses on winning the alliance. He referenced past election results, noting that in 2017, the party contested 11 seats and won 9, while in 2022, it fought for 17 seats and secured 13 victories. For the party, achieving electoral success is more important than the number of seats.

Reacting to Akhilesh Yadav’s claims regarding the Uttar Pradesh elections, Patel stated that while Yadav’s assessment may seem valid from his perspective, the NDA is poised to form the government for the third time, and the alliance led by Yadav will face significant defeat.

When questioned about Amit Shah’s remarks on implementing a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttar Pradesh, Patel refrained from direct comments. He reiterated that his party believes in secular politics and maintains its constitutional stance on certain issues, asserting that they neither politicize religious matters nor make unnecessary comments on them.
