New Delhi, August 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has delivered a significant message ahead of the launch of the ‘Nasha Mukta Yuva – Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’. He emphasized that the initiative aims to inspire youth to stay away from substance abuse and foster positive change in society.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, PM Modi announced, “At 11 AM, we will kick off the ‘Nasha Mukta Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’. This initiative’s goal is to motivate youth to avoid drugs and contribute to societal transformation.”
This marks the beginning of a nationwide ‘Jan Bhagidari’ campaign that will last for 100 weeks. Every Sunday, programs will be organized to raise awareness about this cause and unite society. More than 10,000 locations will see youth participation, alongside volunteers from ‘My Bharat’, NSS, schools, colleges, universities, youth clubs, NGOs, and spiritual organizations.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the 100-week nationwide campaign aims to strengthen community participation by bringing together educational institutions, youth organizations, civil society groups, industry bodies, and spiritual organizations for a collective movement against substance abuse. Weekly activities will be held across the country every Sunday, including sports events, walkathons, meditation sessions, cultural programs, awareness campaigns, street plays, discussion forums, art competitions, and community engagement initiatives.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta commented on the ‘Nasha Mukta Yuva’ program, stating, “Every parent’s dream is for their children to be safe, live their dreams, and create an identity that makes the entire family proud. They should have skills, not addiction; big dreams, not distractions. To support these dreams and propel youth towards nation-building, PM Modi will launch this campaign.”
CM Rekha Gupta urged the public to join hands with every youth, believe in their dreams, and participate in this movement for a drug-free India.
