PM Modi Emphasizes BRICS Commitment to an Inclusive and Prosperous World

New Delhi, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on September 12 that BRICS is committed to fostering a more inclusive and prosperous world. He shared this message through a post on the social media platform X, accompanied by a photo with BRICS leaders during the 2026 summit in New Delhi.

The Ministry of External Affairs described the gathering as a moment of unity and shared purpose. It highlighted the leaders’ collective presence at the 18th BRICS summit, also sharing a photo on X. During the summit, Modi and other leaders participated in a joint tree-planting initiative.

Notable attendees included Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, and Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira. They joined Modi in the tree-planting effort.

The leaders also posed for a traditional family photo on the lawns of Bharat Mandapam. Earlier in the day, they participated in a session focused on strengthening inclusive global governance and multilateralism.

India is hosting a two-day BRICS summit in New Delhi, bringing together leaders from member and partner countries, along with invited outreach nations. Modi announced the unanimous adoption of the New Delhi Declaration 2026 and unveiled two postage stamps celebrating 20 years of BRICS.

In his closing remarks at the session on inclusive global governance, Modi emphasized that the New Delhi Declaration outlines their shared resolve, urging leaders to translate these commitments into tangible outcomes.
