Pawan Kalyan Expresses Concern Over Presidents Comments at International Santhal Conference

Amaravati, March 8: Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has expressed deep concern regarding President Droupadi Murmu’s remarks at the International Santhal Conference held in Darjeeling. He stated that the pain and unfortunate comments made by the President are serious and require attention.

Posting on the social media platform ‘X’ on Sunday, Pawan Kalyan emphasized that any event celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Santhal community must fully honor their culture, participation, and dignity.

He lamented the unfortunate circumstances that made it difficult for many members of the Santhal community to attend the conference that was meant for them. Such cultural events should clearly reflect inclusivity, sensitivity, and better administrative arrangements.

As the leader of the Jana Sena Party, Pawan Kalyan remarked that the position of the President of India symbolizes the highest constitutional honor in the country, and it is everyone’s responsibility to maintain the dignity of this office.

He stated, “It is the responsibility of the relevant administration to ensure that the President’s visit is conducted with full dignity and respect.” Pawan Kalyan also noted that India’s tribal communities are a significant part of the nation’s identity and pride, and their culture, traditions, and voices must always be respected sincerely.

Earlier, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also expressed sorrow over the President’s distress. He shared on ‘X’ that he felt deep sadness upon witnessing the President’s pain. The office of the President symbolizes the dignity of our Republic and should always be regarded with the utmost respect and decorum.

He added that in a vibrant democracy, constitutional institutions must rise above politics, and maintaining their dignity is a collective responsibility.

Meanwhile, the President of the BJP’s Andhra Pradesh unit, P.V.N. Madhav, criticized the West Bengal government regarding this issue. He described the attitude of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s administration as extremely unfortunate and condemnable.

Madhav stated that the office of the President holds the highest honor within our constitutional framework, and disrespecting the President is akin to disrespecting the Constitution and the people of the nation. He termed it as deeply shameful.
