Pakistan’s False Claims on Operation Sindoor Debunked

New Delhi, 2 January. Pakistan is once again attempting to revive a false and failed narrative related to Operation Sindoor by resorting to social media.

Several social media accounts linked to Pakistan are sharing misleading and unverified satellite images. They falsely claim that there were attacks on military installations in Punjab, especially around Amritsar. However, defence experts have clearly stated that these claims are not based on facts.

Open-source analysts collecting information say that the new images deliberately show only limited areas. There are no clear signs of any attack visible in these pictures. No photos show craters, debris, burn marks, or any damage to structures. Even comparisons between older and newer images of the same locations reveal no changes.

Defence specialists confirm that independent inspections of the sites shown in the images reveal no evidence of destruction or damage. The Indian military installations mentioned on Pakistani social media remain completely secure, with no signs of explosions or harm to buildings or surrounding areas. When actual military incidents took place in May last year, Pakistan was unable to present any concrete satellite evidence supporting its claims.

The timing of these claims also raises serious questions. Suddenly releasing such images seven months later, without dates, satellite sources, or solid information, indicates this is a fabricated story rather than genuine pictures from that time. Defence experts note this is not the first time Pakistan has made exaggerated false claims. During and immediately after last year’s military operations, social media accounts linked to Pakistan circulated so-called ‘victory statistics’ and claims of attacks on India’s strategic strength, none of which were verified by independent checks.

Despite these facts, the continued promotion of such images shows this is not mere confusion but a deliberate spread of misinformation. Experts believe such efforts are often aimed at misleading the domestic population, covering up failed claims, and creating confusion internationally. Defence analysts conclude that the truth is clear. There is no solid evidence of any Pakistani attacks on Indian military installations during Operation Sindoor in Punjab. The new social media stories are based on false images and past propaganda that do not stand up to the test of truth.
