According to the Ministry of Defence, participants included NCC cadets, associate NCC officers, permanent instructors, and other staff members.

Yoga sessions were held simultaneously at more than 5,000 locations nationwide. The aim of these programs was to promote physical fitness, mental health, and overall development among the youth.

These yoga sessions took place at several prominent and historical sites, including the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad, Golconda Fort in Hyderabad, Bodh Gaya in Bihar, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the banks of the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati, Namo Ghat in Varanasi, Millennium Park in Kolkata, Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh, Marina Beach in Chennai, and the Konark Sun Temple in Odisha.

The ministry stated that the NCC plays a crucial role in nation-building by instilling discipline, self-confidence, and a sense of social responsibility in the youth. Various NCC activities promote values such as fitness, self-discipline, and collective welfare.

The Indian Coast Guard also observed International Yoga Day under the ‘Yoga Sangam 2026’ initiative. This year’s theme was ‘Yoga for Healthy Aging.’ The programs emphasized the health benefits of yoga and mental resilience for all age groups.
