Over 66.4 Million Job Seekers Registered on NCS Portal

New Delhi, August 5: The National Career Service (NCS) portal has emerged as a significant resource for job seekers. According to the Ministry of Labour, over 66.4 million individuals have registered on this platform, with 28.9 million still active.

On Wednesday, Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya informed the Lok Sabha that NCS has evolved beyond just a job search platform. It has transformed into a digital hub offering job listings, career advice, skill training, and information on both government and private sector jobs—all in one place.

Government data indicates that since its inception, more than 100.5 million job listings have been added to the portal. As of July 15, 1.768 million vacancies remain active.

The ministry has announced that NCS has been upgraded to a cloud-based and open system, with new features being continuously integrated.

Now, with the help of AI, job seekers can find opportunities tailored to their profiles. The system also identifies skill gaps and offers personalized job suggestions, AI interview coaching, and multilingual support. Enhancements have been made to the cloud app and verification system for both employers and job seekers.

To increase employment opportunities, the ministry has partnered with over 40 companies and platforms, including APNA, Swiggy, Rapido, Zomato, Amazon, TCS ION, Quikr, and Foundit. This collaboration provides youth with direct access to private sector jobs.

NCS is also linked with various government portals, such as Udyam, e-Shram, Skill India Digital Hub, EPFO, ESIC, and DigiLocker. Information from recruitment agencies like UPSC, SSC, Railway Recruitment Board, and ASRB is also available on the platform.

To strengthen employment services at the grassroots level, the government has approved 407 model career centers, including 370 upgraded employment offices that offer career counseling, job fairs, and company engagement opportunities.

Currently, 31 states and union territories are connected to NCS, with eight states actively utilizing the platform.
