Opposition Will Take to the Streets If Constitution Is Ignored: SP MP Mohibullah Nadvi

SP MP Mohibullah Nadvi warns of street protests if the government continues to overlook constitutional principles and voter rights.

New Delhi, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : In New Delhi, Samajwadi Party MP Mohibullah Nadvi expressed deep concern over the current state of public unrest in the country. He emphasized that the opposition has a constitutional mandate to intervene when the ruling party disregards the Constitution. Nadvi stated that it is essential for the opposition to voice the sentiments of the public, especially when the government acts with arrogance.

He highlighted issues such as discrepancies in the voter list and the government’s handling of the SIR matter. Nadvi asserted that the recent actions of the ruling party have understandably caused anxiety among citizens, particularly after reports emerged of ten individuals being erroneously listed as deceased while they are alive.

Nadvi pointed out that the Constitution empowers the opposition to challenge the ruling party when it strays from its duties. He noted that prominent opposition leaders like Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi are now key figures in this movement, with the Samajwadi Party holding significant influence within the opposition coalition known as the Indie Alliance.

Reflecting on the recent past, Nadvi criticized the government for its handling of electoral processes, citing instances of vote manipulation in Lakhimpur Kheri. He argued that such actions undermine democracy and the integrity of elections, leading to an unjust political landscape.

He also addressed broader issues regarding national security and military preparedness, referencing comments made by ITBP Director Shatrughan Singh Kapoor about India’s military capabilities compared to China. Nadvi lamented that the focus on communal divisions has distracted from critical defense issues, urging that the nation should unite rather than divide along religious lines.

Furthermore, Nadvi called for a reassessment of how Kashmiris are treated, advocating for equal rights and opportunities for all citizens, regardless of their background. He emphasized that the struggles faced by Kashmiris should not be overlooked, as they too are integral to the nation.

In closing, he urged for a shift in focus from divisive politics to a more inclusive approach, where every citizen, regardless of their identity, receives the respect and opportunities they deserve. Nadvi’s remarks resonate with a growing sentiment for unity and equality in the face of political challenges.
