OnePlus has begun rolling out the OxygenOS 16.0.2.400 update for the Nord CE 5 model CPH2717_16.0.2.400(EX01) in India. Initially available to a limited number of users, this update will be made available more widely in the coming days.
Enhanced Photos and Video Editing Features
The update improves the Photos app by automatically straightening portrait and architectural images when cropping or rotating. Video editing capabilities have been expanded, allowing users to cut, split, and stitch multiple clips. Additionally, users can now add music and text overlays, adjust playback speed, and crop videos with ease.
Filtering options have been improved to sort photos and videos by categories such as Motion Photo, Screenshots, screen recordings, and edited items. Thumbnails also load faster due to enhanced processing efficiency.
Improved Navigation and Customisation
Storage cleanup tools are now accessible directly from the Smart Sidebar, making it easier for users to manage device space. App icons can be resized, shortcut icons added, and both can be rearranged using drag and drop functionality. This applies to app clone icons as well.
The Circle to Search feature has been refined for gesture navigation. Users can activate the search by pressing and holding the area where the gesture bar normally appears, even if it is hidden.
Latest Security Enhancements
This update includes the January 2026 Android security patch. The Private Safe feature now allows users to edit images and videos without unlocking the safe first, enhancing convenience and privacy.
Phone Manager introduces a prompt to enable automatic blocklist updates over Wi-Fi and mobile data. Activating this feature helps keep the blocklist up to date and improves the device’s threat detection capabilities.
Update Eligibility and Availability
The OxygenOS 16.0.2.400 update is available only to users currently running OxygenOS 16. Users still on OxygenOS 15 will need to upgrade to OxygenOS 16 before installing this update. The rollout begins with a small group of users and will expand in the next few days.
