New Delhi, April 1: On the occasion of Utkal Divas, Chief Minister Mohan Chara Majhi expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his wishes. The Chief Minister stated that under Modi’s visionary leadership, the unwavering support of the central government has proven to be a transformative step for Odisha’s development.
In a post on the social media platform X, CM Majhi wrote, “On this auspicious occasion of Utkal Divas, I extend heartfelt wishes on behalf of the people of Odisha and express deep gratitude for your eloquent appreciation of our state’s glorious history and cultural heritage. Your words have deeply touched every Odia heart.”
He emphasized that the unbreakable bond with Odisha has always been a source of inspiration. The cultural connection established between Gujarat and Odisha through the shared heritage of sun temples and the sacred tradition of the Rath Yatra is a testament to the civilizational threads that weave our great nation together. His personal participation in the ‘Pahandi’ ritual during the Ahmedabad Rath Yatra stands as a vibrant proof of this invaluable cultural unity.
CM Majhi noted that the central government’s unwavering support under Modi’s leadership has been transformative for Odisha’s development. The record allocation of ₹10,600 crores for the railway sector in 2025-26, along with a special emphasis on port-based development, is paving the way for Odisha to become a leading maritime and industrial hub. The appreciation received for the ‘Subhadra Scheme,’ which empowers over one million women and nurtures ‘Lakhsapati Didis,’ serves as a profound encouragement for our ‘Nari Shakti’ movement.
As Odisha stands on the threshold of completing its 100 years as a distinctive and glorious state, he reiterated the commitment to advancing Modi’s vision of a ‘Developed Odisha for a Developed India.’ The preservation of Odia identity—our language, culture, and identity—will remain the cornerstone of our governance.
He concluded by stating that with the divine blessings of Lord Jagannath and the collective will of our people, Odisha will reach new heights of prosperity and progress. We are committed to moving forward on this path of development in full partnership with the Government of India.
