Odisha Chief Minister Launches ₹40,811 Crore Industrial Projects

Bhubaneswar, April 8: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated 36 industrial projects worth ₹40,811 crore near Bhuiyanpur in Khurda on Wednesday. Out of these, 25 projects were inaugurated, while the foundation stone for 11 projects was laid.

During a public address, the Chief Minister stated that Odisha is no longer just a state of immense potential but is now experiencing prosperity. He mentioned that these projects are expected to create over 59,000 jobs.

The industrial projects encompass various sectors, including green energy equipment, metals and downstream industries, textiles and apparel, plastics, tourism, agriculture and food processing, defense production, information technology, automobiles, and cement. These projects will be established across different districts of the state, accelerating its economic growth.

The Chief Minister remarked that a new, yet significant chapter has been added to the journey of ‘Prosperous Odisha.’ He emphasized that this reflects the ongoing second industrial revolution in the state. He assured that Odisha is moving from commitment to implementation, and from potential to prosperity, fulfilling the promises made by the government.

He added that within the next two to three years, Odisha will not only remain a state of possibilities but will also begin to experience prosperity. He projected that in the coming years, the state will emerge as a fully developed and prosperous entity on the global stage.

Creating 59,000 jobs is no small feat, he noted. The Chief Minister revealed that in the past 18-20 months, the state government has laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 109 projects worth approximately ₹2.5 lakh crore, generating around 1.76 lakh employment opportunities.

He further stated that today’s event alone attracted over ₹40,000 crore in investment and created 59,000 jobs. He also mentioned that products previously imported will now be manufactured in Khurda itself.

He described this achievement as a matter of pride and honor. Products made in Odisha will reach global markets, strengthening the state’s industrial ecosystem towards self-reliance.
