Bhopal, April 4: Activists from the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) staged a protest on Saturday outside the office of Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla. They also targeted the Directorate of Health Services (Ayushman) and the Chief Medical and Health Officer’s office by putting up posters.
One of the posters displayed outside Shukla’s residence-office aimed to highlight alleged irregularities in the healthcare system through a satirical message.
NSUI activists warned that if strict action is not taken promptly, the public health system could be at risk. They accused the authorities of providing protection to illegal and fake hospitals operating in the city.
However, security personnel later removed the posters placed outside Shukla’s residence.
Ravi Parmar, the state vice president of NSUI, alleged that many hospitals in the city are violating regulations and falsely registering names of doctors and staff on paper. He emphasized that despite multiple complaints and protests, no concrete action has been taken by Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Manish Sharma.
Parmar stated, “This inaction suggests that a large syndicate of fake hospitals is active in the capital.” He also claimed that these hospitals are financially exploiting patients who come from rural areas and smaller towns seeking treatment.
NSUI has warned that if immediate action is not taken, a larger protest will be organized outside Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla’s residence in the coming days.
In response to these allegations, CMHO Dr. Manish Sharma dismissed them as baseless and politically motivated. He stated, “Regular inspections are being conducted, and action against fake hospitals is ongoing. Complaints have also been filed in court in several cases.”
