Noida, February 10: The New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (Noida Authority) has taken a significant step towards making the city congestion-free and accessible. In response to the rising issues of encroachments on roads, sidewalks, and public spaces, the authority has initiated a daily anti-encroachment campaign.
The objective of this operation is to provide citizens with clear roads and safe public areas. According to information released from the main administrative building of Noida Authority in Sector 6, each work circle has been equipped with a JCB machine and a dumper to ensure regular removal of encroachments.
On February 9, 2026, anti-encroachment teams conducted extensive operations across work circles 1 to 10. Areas targeted included Zonal Road Number 3, near DSC Road in New Ashok Nagar, MP-2 Road, and various sectors such as 44, 51, 63, 65, 66, 70, 71, 34, and 35, along with the Hosiery Complex, Face-2, and Sector 93A. Illegal encroachments were also removed from under the elevated road at DSC Road Bhangeel, as well as sectors 124, 126, 150, and 155-156.
During the operation, roadside carts, temporary shops, and other illegal structures were cleared, leading to improved traffic flow. Local residents welcomed the authority’s initiative, expressing relief from the congestion and chaos caused by encroachments. Authority officials noted that there had been continuous complaints from Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), industrial organizations, and citizens regarding unauthorized vendors.
This strict and regular campaign has been launched to address these complaints. Officials clarified that the operations will continue daily, with strict actions against violators. The Noida Authority emphasizes that this initiative is essential for maintaining an organized, safe, and congestion-free city, and they expect cooperation from the public.
