Shimla, September 26 (Daily Kiran) : Shimla, September 26 — Amid ongoing speculation regarding a cabinet expansion in Himachal Pradesh, Congress state in-charge Rajni Patil announced on Saturday that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has not yet presented any formal proposal on the matter.
Speaking to reporters after two days of extensive meetings, Patil emphasized that the party would only proceed with discussions on cabinet expansion once the Chief Minister submits an official proposal. She also addressed internal factionalism, preparations for the 2027 assembly elections, and the functioning of the Election Commission of India.
Patil revealed that nearly 90 percent of district presidents raised concerns about block presidents not listening to their grievances. Labeling this issue as serious, she warned that she would take strict action against any instances of indiscipline.
Additionally, Patil advised Cabinet Minister Jagat Singh Negi to refrain from making public statements regarding the ongoing organizational restructuring campaign. She cautioned that continued comments of this nature could lead to disciplinary measures. However, she acknowledged that some differences within a political organization are natural and likened them to family dynamics.
She stressed that there is no conflict between the government and the party organization, asserting that all members would be included in the decision-making process.
Patil confirmed that the Congress party has begun preparations for the 2027 Himachal Pradesh assembly elections and will soon unveil a new strategy to engage with the public.
She highlighted the serious issue of exam paper leaks, claiming that such incidents have led to the suicides of 70 to 80 youths. The Congress plans to bring this matter to the forefront of public discussion.
Furthermore, she praised Rahul Gandhi’s “Students’ Resonance” initiative in the Lok Sabha and suggested organizing similar programs for the youth in Himachal Pradesh. She indicated that appointments to pending committees in the state would be made soon.
Patil also made sharp criticisms of the Election Commission of India and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing Kumar of serious corruption and labeling him a “traitor,” insisting that he should be imprisoned.
