Deputy CM Eknath Shinde Demands Apology from Rahul Gandhi Over Election Commission Allegations

Maharashtras Deputy CM Eknath Shinde calls for a public apology from Rahul Gandhi for spreading false allegations against constitutional bodies.

Mumbai, September 26 (Daily Kiran) : Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, has taken aim at the opposition, demanding that Rahul Gandhi and leaders of the INDIA alliance issue an unconditional public apology. He accuses them of spreading “false and baseless allegations” against constitutional institutions.

Shinde criticized the coalition’s political tactics, stating they rely on “fabricated stories” to mislead citizens and tarnish national leadership. He referred to recent claims of internal disagreements within the Election Commission of India (ECI), asserting that the opposition’s celebration of false news backfired. A unanimous statement from all three election commissioners effectively debunked the misinformation, he claimed.

“Rahul Gandhi and his associates have attempted to defame Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah by using these false claims. The opposition has made it a habit to spread calculated disinformation to undermine trust in democratic processes,” Shinde said.

He further insisted that Gandhi should apologize to the nation for engaging in such a disinformation campaign. According to Shinde, whenever election results do not favor the opposition, the INDIA alliance targets democratic institutions like the Election Commission and the courts.

Shinde accused opposition leaders of inciting distrust, spreading rumors, and trying to confuse voters. He emphasized that 1.4 billion citizens stand firmly with Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah, rendering the false accusations ineffective.

He concluded by stating that the politically aware public recognizes these political maneuvers and will respond appropriately at the right time. Shinde warned that attempts to undermine constitutional integrity would only further isolate the opposition politically.

In related news, former Maharashtra Chief Minister and current BJP MP Ashok Chavan criticized Gandhi’s statements regarding the Election Commission. In a post on social media platform X, Chavan remarked, “A desperate opposition leader, a bundle of lies. Rahul Gandhi: ‘Sir, it was a unilateral decision.’ Meanwhile… ECI press
