Nitish Kumars Rajya Sabha Nomination Criticized as Betrayal of Public Trust

Lucknow, March 5: Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput has criticized the decision to nominate Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to the Rajya Sabha, labeling it a “betrayal of the public trust.”

In an interview with a news agency on Thursday, Rajput stated that the BJP and NDA had made numerous promises to the public while presenting Kumar as their leader. However, he claims that changing the leadership now constitutes a betrayal of the people. He suggested that both parties should prioritize the issues they initially brought to the public’s attention. “It doesn’t matter who becomes the next Chief Minister,” he remarked.

Rajput emphasized that the question of who will be the next Chief Minister is an internal matter for his party. He insisted that all promises made to the people of Bihar must be fulfilled without any delays.

He pointed out that the BJP-JD(U) government had previously promised to provide an additional two lakh rupees to the livelihood workers after an initial payment of ten thousand. “When will these funds be disbursed?” he asked. He also highlighted commitments made regarding free electricity and the creation of ten lakh jobs, urging the government to deliver on these promises.

Rajput concluded by stating that his party would hold the government accountable on these issues in the coming days. He refrained from commenting on the internal decision of the parties regarding the Chief Ministerial position, but reiterated the importance of fulfilling commitments made to the public.
