
Patna, March 8: Nishant Kumar, the son of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is set to join the Janata Dal (United) on Sunday at 1 PM. His entry into politics has generated a wave of enthusiasm among party workers.
On Saturday, Nishant Kumar met with senior party leaders and young legislators to discuss the party’s future strategies and the best ways to move forward. All senior JD(U) leaders warmly welcomed him during this meeting.
Senior JD(U) leader Vashisht Narayan Singh expressed optimism about Nishant Kumar’s potential, stating that his involvement in politics could inspire the youth of Bihar. He mentioned that discussions are ongoing regarding whether Nishant will take on a role within the government, but clarity will emerge soon.
Singh also noted that the people of Bihar and JD(U) workers would miss Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who has recently filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections. He emphasized that sometimes leaders face unique circumstances, and the decisions they make are crucial. While the workers will miss Nitish Kumar, they will continue to support him.
JD(U) leader Subhash Chandra confirmed that Nishant Kumar will join the party and carry forward the vision of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Another leader, Ajay Kumar Patel, reiterated that Nitish Kumar is a national leader and all his decisions are in the best interest of Bihar. He believes Nishant’s presence will strengthen the party.
Bharat Patel, another JD(U) leader, mentioned that the meeting discussed Nishant Kumar’s formal induction into the party, which is expected to take place on Sunday.
