Nishant Kumar Pays Tribute to Ram Manohar Lohia, Praises Nitish Kumars Governance

Patna, March 23: Nishant Kumar, son of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, visited the Janata Dal United (JD(U)) office on Monday. There, he paid homage to socialist leader Ram Manohar Lohia by placing a garland on his portrait and offering floral tributes.

During his visit, Nishant Kumar received a warm welcome from party leaders and workers. He spent nearly an hour at the party headquarters discussing organizational matters and the government’s functioning with party officials.

Speaking to reporters, Nishant Kumar criticized the government in Bihar before 2005, highlighting the frequent riots and violence during that period. He credited his father with restoring law and order and bringing stability to the state.

Nishant emphasized the significant influence of Ram Manohar Lohia on his father’s political ideology. He noted that Nitish Kumar considers Lohia his mentor and was greatly inspired by his speeches at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.

Highlighting Lohia’s principles, Nishant stated that they focus on gender equality, the elimination of caste and social discrimination, economic justice, and adherence to truth and non-violence.

He mentioned that his father adopted these ideals and implemented them in governance for the welfare of the people. Nishant pointed out that Nitish Kumar introduced a 50% reservation for women and worked towards inclusive development across all sections of society. He has consistently followed the path of truth and maintained integrity in public life.

This visit and his statements have drawn attention in political circles, marking a rare public and political engagement from Nishant Kumar.

He reiterated that when Nitish Kumar took office in 2005, Bihar was grappling with continuous riots and unrest—a situation he claimed was effectively controlled under his father’s leadership.

On the occasion of Bihar Day, Nishant Kumar extended his best wishes and congratulations to the people of the state.
