Nine Cases of LPG Black Marketing Registered in Madhya Pradesh: Food Minister

Bhopal, March 27: The Madhya Pradesh government asserts that there is an adequate supply of petroleum products, including domestic gas. Actions against black marketers are ongoing in the state.

Food Minister Govind Singh Rajput announced that nine cases have been registered so far. He stated that there is a sufficient stock of LPG, petrol, and diesel in Madhya Pradesh. All refineries in India are operating at full capacity, and there is an ample reserve of crude oil, ensuring no disruptions in supply. Continuous actions are being taken to curb LPG black marketing under the Essential Commodities Act. To date, inspections have been conducted at 2,046 locations, resulting in the seizure of 2,888 LPG cylinders and the registration of FIRs in nine cases.

Rajput mentioned that the bottling plants for LPG have adequate stock. To meet customer demands, all plants are operating extended hours. Currently, all oil companies have sufficient petrol and diesel stock. New stock is arriving daily at all oil companies, allowing for easy fulfillment of upcoming demand. Recently, due to rumors, people attempted to hoard petroleum products, leading to a 2 to 2.5 times increase in sales in some districts.

This situation resulted in long lines at some petrol pumps and temporary stock shortages. However, there is no shortage of petrol and diesel at the pumps. Continuous supply of diesel and petrol is being maintained from company depots.

Minister Rajput emphasized that there is no shortage of petroleum products in Madhya Pradesh. He urged residents to ignore any rumors and purchase petrol and diesel only as needed, advising against hoarding. The oil companies have reiterated that LPG, petrol, and diesel are available in sufficient quantities. All measures are being taken to ensure a seamless supply of petroleum products in Madhya Pradesh.
