The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a new full version of the Aadhaar App, introducing several useful features aimed at making Aadhaar-related services more accessible on mobile devices.
Among the app’s key features is the ability to share your Contact Card, which includes your name and registered mobile number, through a QR code. This eliminates the need to manually type or share contact details via messages. The new feature converts the name and number linked to your Aadhaar into a QR code that anyone can scan to instantly receive your information.
This method is particularly beneficial for those who frequently meet new people or attend events and meetings where quick and secure sharing of contact information is essential. The QR code sharing feature is available on both Android and iPhone platforms, making contact sharing faster, safer, and more convenient.
How to Share Your Contact Card Using the New Aadhaar App
Step 1: Download and install the new Aadhaar App from the Play Store or App Store.
Step 2: Log in using your Aadhaar number, registered mobile number, and face scan verification.
Step 3: Create a 6-digit PIN as prompted, then proceed to the home page.
Step 4: Scroll down to the “Services” section and then to “Other Services.”
Step 5: Tap on the “Share Contact” option, which will automatically generate your QR code.
Step 6: The other person can scan this QR code using the new Aadhaar App, or you can share it via messaging apps using the share button.
It is important to note that this feature only shares the name and mobile number linked to your Aadhaar and these details cannot be altered through this feature.
