Tel Aviv, February 25: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit as historic. He noted that it marks Modi’s return to Israel after nine years. Netanyahu highlighted the deep connections and robust bilateral friendship between the two nations.
In a post on the social media platform X, Netanyahu wrote, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is back in Israel for a two-day visit after nine years. My wife Sara and I welcomed our good friend, Prime Minister Modi today. This will prove to be another historic visit for Israel.”
Netanyahu recalled that Modi last visited Israel in 2017, after which he traveled to India, an experience he found particularly special. “We share a close personal relationship and often communicate. I believe our deep friendship reflects the strong ties between our two countries,” he stated.
Netanyahu mentioned that they will participate in a festive reception at the Knesset, attend an innovation event in Jerusalem, and host Modi for a joint dinner. “Tomorrow, we will visit Washington and then have another meeting with our teams. During this time, we will sign several agreements in economic, security, and diplomatic areas, further advancing cooperation between Israel and India,” he added.
Prime Minister Modi also took to X to discuss his meeting in Israel, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome he received earlier in the day. “I am very happy to be back in Israel after nine years. We discussed various topics aimed at enhancing our mutual relations. There are many sectors, including technology, water management, agriculture, and talent partnerships, where close cooperation is highly promising. We also talked about significant developments happening in the region,” he noted.
During this visit, Modi plans to engage in discussions with Netanyahu and Israeli President Isaac Herzog, address the Israeli parliament, and participate in several other events.
