NDA Leaders Criticize Hamid Ansaris Remarks on Protests and Governance
NDA leaders respond sharply to Hamid Ansaris comments on ongoing protests, emphasizing law and order in Indias democracy.

Patna, October 22 (Daily Kiran) : Political tensions have escalated following former Vice President Hamid Ansari’s comments regarding nationwide protests aimed at removing Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Ansari remarked that protests are a natural part of societal discourse and involve citizens of the country. His statements have sparked significant backlash from various political factions.
Sanjay Sarawagi, President of the Bihar BJP, strongly criticized Ansari’s remarks, describing them as a continuation of his divisive and pessimistic rhetoric. Sarawagi stated, “It is unfortunate for someone who held one of the highest constitutional offices in the country to belittle India’s democratic framework and social harmony. Today’s India does not operate on appeasement but through the rule of law, as envisioned by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Constitution and the spirit of putting the nation first. This trend of undermining our systems post-retirement must come to an end.”
In contrast, Shyam Rajak, National General Secretary of Janata Dal (United), supported Ansari’s perspective. He asserted, “He is right; let things proceed as they are. The country is progressing, jobs are being created, and investments are flowing in. By 2047, India will emerge as a global leader.”
BJP National Spokesperson Guru Prakash Paswan also weighed in, countering Ansari’s statements. He asserted that chaos under the guise of protests will not be tolerated. Paswan emphasized, “Ansari claims that protests involve our own people, but who is suggesting they belong to someone else? The real issue arises when individuals breach legal boundaries. We cannot expect our demands to be met regardless of the circumstances. There are established procedures, and the law and Constitution must be respected by all.”
The discourse surrounding these protests and the responses from political leaders highlight the ongoing debates about governance and civil rights in India.
