Nana Patole Criticizes Election Commission Amid LPG Crisis in Maharashtra

Mumbai, March 13: Senior Congress leader Nana Patole has once again made headlines with his controversial remarks. This time, he compared Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to a fourth-grade employee. Patole’s statement comes at a time when the Trinamool Congress has issued a notice for Kumar’s removal.

During a media interaction in Mumbai, Patole stated that he and the entire opposition support the removal of Gyanesh Kumar, accusing him of undermining democratic processes. He claimed that the Election Commission makes decisions to benefit the BJP in elections.

Addressing the ongoing LPG crisis, Patole protested with a gas cylinder cutout. He criticized the government, noting that more than half of the hotels in cities like Mumbai have shut down. Students living in hostels have had to return to their villages due to the gas shortage, disrupting their education. He highlighted that even households are struggling to access gas, with rampant black marketing forcing people to pay as much as 2,000 rupees for a cylinder.

Patole condemned the Maharashtra government as corrupt, stating that the public is suffering without anyone to listen to their grievances. To awaken the government, the Congress party has initiated protests across all districts. They are demonstrating in the Assembly with gas cylinder cutouts, amplifying the voices of the people.

In response to the government’s claims, Patole questioned why hotels are closing in a city like Mumbai if there is no gas shortage. He pointed out that the bakery industry is also affected, leaving many who rely on street food like vada pav in distress as shops shut down. He asserted that mere falsehoods from the government will not suffice; the reality must be presented to the public.

Patole warned that the situation could worsen than during the pandemic, as petrol and diesel shortages have already begun and will not resolve quickly. He urged Prime Minister Modi to address the nation and reassure the public on how to tackle the ongoing crisis, as both the country and Maharashtra are in distress.
