New Delhi, April 21: Exciting news has emerged for the Mumbai Indians (MI) during IPL 2026. England’s star all-rounder Will Jacks has officially joined the MI team. On Monday, Mumbai Indians secured a remarkable victory against the Gujarat Titans, winning by 99 runs.
According to a report from ‘Cricbuzz’, Will Jacks was spotted practicing on the field alongside his MI teammates. His addition to the squad is a significant boost for MI. Jacks had an impressive performance in the T20 World Cup 2026, scoring 226 runs at a strike rate of 176 across eight matches. His bowling was equally commendable.
In those eight matches, Jacks took a total of nine wickets. MI will be counting on the English player to deliver strong performances in the remaining matches of IPL 2026. He is expected to be part of MI’s playing eleven in the upcoming match against the Chennai Super Kings on April 23.
So far in IPL 2026, Mumbai Indians have played six matches, winning two and losing four. After facing four consecutive losses, MI bounced back with a spectacular win against the Gujarat Titans in the tournament’s 30th match.
Batting first, MI scored 199 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs. Tilak Varma led the charge with a powerful innings of 101 runs off 45 balls, while Naman Dhir contributed 45 runs from 32 balls. The MI bowlers also delivered an outstanding performance in this match. Ashwani Kumar took four wickets for just 24 runs in his four overs, and Allah Gazanfar claimed two wickets for 17 runs.
Chasing a target of 200 runs, the Gujarat Titans were bowled out for a mere 100 runs. This victory marks the fourth-largest win in IPL history in terms of runs, while it stands as the biggest defeat for the Gujarat Titans.
