New Delhi, July 28: The monsoon has once again picked up pace in the national capital, New Delhi, and the surrounding NCR region. According to the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a yellow alert has been issued for July 28 and 29.

The department predicts light to moderate rainfall throughout these two days. Continuous monsoon activity is expected, leading to cloudy skies and intermittent rain throughout the week. This weather is anticipated to provide relief from humidity and heat for residents.

The IMD forecasts a maximum temperature of 33 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius for July 28. Humidity levels may reach up to 80% at their peak and 75% at their lowest. Rain is expected at various times throughout the day, with the sky generally overcast with clouds.

On July 29, similar weather conditions are expected, with a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 23 degrees Celsius. Light to moderate rain may continue from morning until night, prompting the yellow alert. Residents are advised to remain cautious due to potential waterlogging, slippery roads, and traffic disruptions.

The extended forecast indicates that on July 30, the maximum temperature will be around 33 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius. Cloudy skies and moderate rainfall are likely, but no warnings have been issued for this day. On July 31, the maximum temperature is expected to remain at 33 degrees Celsius, with light rain or drizzle possible, and again, no weather warnings are anticipated.

On August 1, temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 34 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius, with cloudy conditions and potential light rain. Similarly, on August 2, the forecast remains consistent with a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius, with light rain expected.

Meteorologists state that the monsoon will remain active over the coming days in New Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Faridabad, and nearby areas. The persistent cloud cover and intermittent rain will keep temperatures around normal levels. However, residents should be aware of possible waterlogging in low-lying areas and traffic disruptions on major routes.
