Mithila Palekar Credits Social Media for Her Acting Journey

Mumbai: Actress and singer Mithila Palekar, known for her roles in films like ‘Little Things’, ‘Caravan’, and ‘Chopsticks’, is gaining attention with the film ‘Happy Patel’ produced by Aamir Khan. Having showcased her talent across movies and OTT platforms, Mithila recently shared insights into her acting career, revealing that she never planned to enter films deliberately, but her journey unfolded naturally.

Mithila’s Unplanned Entry into Acting

Mithila Palekar explained, “I have always said that I worked according to the circumstances to advance my professional life. I embraced becoming an actress wholeheartedly. I had no idea what the internet would do. Ten years ago, the internet was just beginning in India. Back then, television, theatre, and films were the main mediums, and radio had its own influence. We did not foresee the internet making such an impact. So, I was experimenting on social media, trying everything that could help me grow as an artist.”

She added, “I auditioned for everything. The way my life progressed, I don’t think I could have planned it better. I am glad I didn’t plan it because I allowed myself the freedom to go with the flow of life. I got a chance with Filter Copy, which gave me ‘News Darshan’, a new satirical comedy show. After that, Dhruv and I did two comedy sketches. Then came ‘Little Things’, followed by ‘Girl in the City’. Everything happened one after another. So, I believe if I had planned it, I might not have done as well.”

Support and Luck in Career Growth

Reflecting on her early career, Mithila considers herself fortunate to have received support from many people. She said, “I feel lucky to have met the right people at the right time. Although I haven’t met some of those people again after eight years, they played a significant role in my journey, and I will never forget their contributions.”

Mithila Palekar’s story highlights how adaptability and openness to new opportunities, especially through social media, have helped shape her successful and evolving career in acting.
