Chandigarh, May 2: Renowned Punjabi and Bollywood singer Mika Singh met with Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria on Saturday at Punjab Lok Bhawan.
During their meeting, the Governor urged Mika Singh to join the state’s anti-drug campaign. In response, Mika Singh assured his full support and announced plans to collaborate with the administration to host a free mega show in Chandigarh. He emphasized that all proceeds from this event would be dedicated to strengthening the anti-drug initiative.
The discussion also focused on promoting the Punjabi language, culture, and heritage on a global scale. Both individuals stressed the importance of showcasing Punjab’s rich heritage and traditions to the world.
Additionally, they discussed ways to enhance tourism in the state and create a favorable environment for film production. Mika Singh proposed developing a world-class film city in Punjab, comparable to Bollywood and even Hollywood standards, to attract filmmakers and tourists alike.

Governor Gulab Chand Kataria later posted on the social media platform ‘X’, stating, “Today, I met Mika Singh at Punjab Lok Bhawan, Chandigarh, to strengthen the resolve for a drug-free Punjab. He has decided to hold a free mega show in Chandigarh as part of the campaign. We also had positive discussions on Punjabi language, culture, tourism, and the film city.”
Furthermore, the Governor participated in the ‘5th Indian Traditional Games and Sports Festival’ at Punjab University, Chandigarh, where he engaged with athletes and youth. He remarked that this event empowers the commitment to ‘Fit India’ and ‘Developed India’ by promoting our heritage and traditional sports.
