Manjinder Singh Sirsa Files Defamation Statement Against AAP Leaders

Manjinder Singh Sirsa has filed a defamation case against AAP leaders, claiming false accusations have harmed his reputation.

New Delhi, October 29 (Daily Kiran) : Manjinder Singh Sirsa, a minister in the Delhi government, has officially filed a defamation statement against leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He asserts that allegations of “piggy bank theft” and “rice theft” are baseless and have damaged his reputation.

Sirsa’s statement was submitted at the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi, where he named AAP leaders Saurabh Bhardwaj, Sanjeev Jha, and Kuldeep Kumar as defendants in the criminal defamation case. He emphasized that references to “piggy bank theft” are particularly offensive within Sikhism, as the term is associated with religious and charitable acts.

The minister expressed that he holds significant respect in society and is regarded with honor globally. He frequently visits Gurdwaras around the world, and he believes the false accusations have tarnished his image internationally.

“This is not the first time Saurabh Bhardwaj has made false claims against me,” Sirsa stated. He added that the recent accusations regarding rice theft have led to questions about his integrity, causing some acquaintances to distance themselves from him.

Sirsa noted that those who have known him for years are now questioning his character, particularly concerning the alleged scams related to the piggy bank theft, which he claims amounts to ₹400 crore.

In response to the allegations made during a press conference by Bhardwaj and Jha, Sirsa had previously issued legal notices on August 11, demanding a retraction of their statements and a public apology.
