Malaysias PM Condemns Attacks on Iran, Expresses Solidarity

New Delhi, March 7: Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has once again expressed his discontent regarding the attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel. He showcased the solidarity and sympathy of the Malaysian people towards Iran.

On the social media platform X, PM Anwar Ibrahim stated, “I spoke with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi to express Malaysia’s sympathy and solidarity with the Iranian people during this challenging time. During our phone conversation, I also conveyed Malaysia’s condolences for the victims of the recent attacks carried out by the Israeli government and the United States in Tehran, including Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and 165 schoolchildren.”

Condemning the attacks from Israel and the U.S., Anwar Ibrahim reiterated Malaysia’s firm stance against any military action that violates a country’s sovereignty. He also expressed deep concern over the impact of this long-standing conflict on global peace, stability, and welfare.

The Malaysian PM called for a diplomatic resolution to the matter between both parties. The discussion emphasized the urgent need to de-escalate tensions, strengthen diplomatic efforts, and find peaceful solutions to the ongoing conflicts in the region, including the Palestinian issue, which continues to capture the international community’s attention.

Previously, Iran’s President Masoud Pejashkian had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian Foreign Ministry shared details of their discussion via Telegram.

During the call, Vladimir Putin once again expressed his deep condolences for the deaths of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, his family members, and the country’s military and leaders. He also lamented the deaths of many civilians due to the attacks from the U.S. and Israel.

The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Putin stressed the need to immediately de-escalate tensions and reaffirmed Russia’s principles of rejecting the use of force as a means to resolve any issues related to Iran or arising in the Middle East, advocating for a swift return to diplomatic solutions.
