Major Reshuffle in Punjab Police: Transfers of 12 IPS and 112 PPS Officers Announced

Chandigarh, August 16: The Punjab government has implemented a significant administrative reshuffle within the police department, involving the transfer of 12 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and 112 Punjab Police Service (PPS) officers. Orders issued by the Home Department state that all transfers and new appointments are effective immediately.

Among the IPS officers, V. Neerja has been appointed as Special DGP (NRI) Punjab, previously serving as Special DGP (Cyber Crime). Rajesh Kumar Jaiswal has been assigned the role of ADGP (Cyber Crime) Punjab and will also hold additional responsibilities as ADGP (Jail). Nanak Singh has been appointed as DIG (Internal Vigilance Cell) Punjab and will also oversee the DIG (Ropar Range) duties.

Additionally, the government has transferred 112 PPS officers, assigning them new responsibilities across various districts, commissionerates, battalions, and special police units.

Suba Singh has been moved from Commandant, 5th IRB Amritsar to the jail department as DIG. Parmjit Singh has been appointed as DCP Special Branch, Ludhiana. Bhupinder Singh has been designated as Commandant, 2nd CDO Battalion, Bahadurgarh (Patiala). Jugraj Singh Kaler will take on the role of DCP Operations, Amritsar, while Prabhjot Singh has been appointed as DCP Investigation, Amritsar. Ravinderpal Singh is now DCP Law and Order, Amritsar, and Alam Vijay Singh has been assigned as DCP City, Ludhiana. Gursevak Singh will serve as DCP Rural, Ludhiana, and Jaskiranjeet Singh has been appointed DCP City, Amritsar. Harpal Singh has been transferred to DCP Investigation, Jalandhar.

The state government has made several key changes in the police commissionerates of Amritsar, Ludhiana, and Jalandhar. Many ADCs, DCPs, and SP-level officers have been given new responsibilities to enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement, investigations, and special branches.

Sandeep Kumar has been appointed as ADC Operations, Ludhiana, while also holding additional duties as ADC PBI. Dev Singh is now ADC Investigation, Jalandhar, and Manjeet Kaur has been transferred to ADC Headquarters, Amritsar. Rupinder Kaur Bhatti has been appointed as ADC Investigation, Ludhiana.

The transfer list includes several SP-level officers from various districts who have been assigned new roles. This includes Ramandeep Singh (SP Investigation, Amritsar Rural), Aswant Singh (SP City, Bathinda), Narinder Singh (SP Investigation, Faridkot), Palvinder Singh Cheema (SP Investigation, Ropar), Navneet Singh Mahal (SP Investigation, Hoshiarpur), Mohit Kumar Agarwal (SP City, Patiala), Harkamal Kaur (SP Headquarters, SBS Nagar), and Gurmeet Kaur (Commandant, 27th Battalion PAP Jalandhar).

Moreover, significant changes have also been made in the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Cyber Crime, Counter Intelligence, and Special Branch. Jasmeet Singh Sahiwal has been appointed as SP ANTF, Patiala Range; Swarnjeet Kaur as SP Counter Intelligence, Ferozepur; Deepika Singh as SP Special Branch and additional charge of SP AGTF, SAS Nagar; and Talwinder Singh Gill as SP Cyber Crime-1, Punjab. Manoj Gorsi has been transferred to SP Investigation, Bathinda.

The Home Department’s order emphasizes that all officers must assume their new positions immediately.
